Trop the Mic Draft & Can Release

Summertime is finally here and we’re ready to celebrate! And so, we teamed up with our friends at Vida Taco Bar (in Annapolis, Severna Park, and soon-to-be Baltimore) to create the quintessential summer brew: Trop the Mic, a Tropical Pilsner with Pineapple and Lime Zest.
Trop the Mic will be hitting the Taproom on draft and in cans on Thursday, June 21st. To mark the occasion, we invited John, Owner—and Margarita-Maker Extraordinaire—at Vida, to create some tasty concoctions for the evening. Starting at 4 p.m., we’ll be offering Trop the Mic Flights, featuring a shot of Casamigos Tequila and sample pours of the following: Trop the Mic, a Vida House Margarita, and a “beertail,” crafted with our Tropical Pilsner, exclusively for the release party.
Vida’s Chef, Josh, will be joining us in the FoodWorks kitchen, creating tasty street tacos, wings, and ceviche to pair perfectly with these flights!
- Lamb barbacoa with balsamic-soaked raisins, green olives, and queso fresco
- Fried chicken wing flats in Oaxaca black mole with toasted sesame seeds
- Jerk mahi mahi taco with pineapple and lime
- Bay scallop and rock shrimp ceviche with avocado, citrus segments, pickled red onion, and tortilla chips
And our very Executive Chef, Alfredo, will add a special flatbread to the menu: Charred pineapple with house-made duck prosciutto.
Brightly citric and eminently drinkable, Trop the Mic is a gorgeous summer retrofitting of Czech the Technique, our Czech-style pilsner. Freshly pressed pineapple juice is meticulously blended with the base beer, the result of which is then aged atop heaps of fresh lime zest, thus creating a downright superlative drinking experience.
