Jailbreak State Of The Union

So don’t chastise me for not posting more regularly.    Life’s hairy and more often than not the batteries on my “life trimmers” are in dire need of recharging.    Besides, it’s been a long day.  The wife is on a girl’s weekend retreat leaving daddy to fend with two boys (one of which has a mild case of Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus…whatever that is) all by my lonesome.    So as I sit here with my glass of wine (WTF Bonner…..ditch the wine loser…..you’re in the brewing biz now!) I figured what better time than now to update everyone on the Jailbreak State of the Union.

First and foremost, we’re within mere days of signing our lease but I think it’s safe to finally divulge our location.    We’ll be setting up shop in Laurel, MD on Rte. 1 across from the infamous CarMax.     Hopefully you’re local and know what the F*** I’m talking about.   There is still much work to be done but we’re still on schedule for a January 1st, 2014 tap room opening.     I’m trying to see if either Dr. Dre or Prince will provide the entertainment for our Grand Opening but at this point, I’d settle on one of those tweener acoustic guitar players frequenting the Ocean City Boardwalk.    It IS all about the beer, right?

Second, Ryan (formally known as the Brew Pimp) will be officially onboard August 1st and will be brewing on our soon to be delivered half barrel Sabco system complete with an array of Blichmann fermentors (minus the two turntables and a microphone).    We expect to be cooking up three experimental brews a week which will keep him very busy and all of us very inebriated (responsibly of course).    Our first experimental venom turned out to be drink worthy (a hell bent 11% DIPA) though the keg’s just about kicked!

Lastly, after months of debate, lost sleep and plenty of anxiety meds….we’ve come up with our official slogan.    The question has always been…what is easy, direct, not too fancy and effectively communicates our message.     Well….it came to us in our sleep like a message from the beer angels.   And it is……… “The Art Of Escape”.    Sounds about right, doesn’t it?   If not, keep it to yourself homie!
