Hop & Saucy: A Jailbreak Hot Sauce Contest

Calling all hot sauce makers!

We’re throwing our first ever hot sauce-making contest—Hop & Saucy—on Sunday, September 30th.

It’s incredibly simple to participate: Register below and bring in a quart of your hot sauce. Our judges—Brewmaster Ryan, Lead Brewer Clay, Executive Chef Fred, and Taproom Manager Kyle—will select a winning recipe, which will later appear on our FoodWorks menu. The winner will also get a crowler of their choosing.

And don’t forget, hot sauce is about much more than just heat. As Fred says, “the point isn’t to hurt anybody!”

Your sauce will be judged on flavor, balance, and consistency. You can use Jailbreak beer in your concoction, but it’s not necessary!

We’ll also put the hot sauces up to a public vote. The crowd favorite will score bragging rights and we’ll throw in a crowler for good measure.

All hot sauces must be on site by 1 p.m. We ask that you arrive at 12:30 p.m. for check-in. The winner will be announced at 2:30 p.m., along with the crowd favorite.

Advanced registration is required. The cost to enter is $10, which grants you a beer upon entry and Happy Hour pricing for the day! (Please bring your ID).

There are only a limited number of spots available, so don’t hesitate in signing up!

Interested in participating in the public vote? Get a token from our barstaff, test out all the sauces, and drop your token in the bucket that’s next to your favorite hot sauce. Public tasting will begin at 1:30 p.m.
