Double Beer Release: Hey Porter and Fickle Love

Forget sweater-weather and PSL season. Fall is for dark beers… and we’ve got a doozy!

Hey Porter, our new Coffee Porter, hits the Taproom on Friday, November 9th. And we’ll be teaming it with a new Hazy IPA, dubbed Fickle Love, for good measure!

Both new brews will be available on draft and in 16 oz. cans starting at 5 p.m. That last part (the release time) is important to note because we’re canning both beers that day, so it won’t be ready any sooner. But, how’s that for tank-to-table freshness?!

If you like bittersweet chocolate, you’re in for a treat. Not only is Hey Porter’s base ripe with dark fruit character, reminiscent of raisin and fig, but its roasted malts and grain bill was specifically formulated to accentuate chocolate on the palate. And, of course, it’s equally delightful in coffee aroma and taste, courtesy of its curated blend with cold-brewed Ceremony Coffee.

On the flip side, Fickle Love is perfect for anyone having a hard time letting go of summer. Brewed with New Zealand Moutere hops, this IPA is distinctively tropical and passion fruit oriented, with an ample amount of malted and flaked wheat to enhance mouthfeel.

Tasting notes:

Hey Porter begins as an English-inspired, immensely robust porter with a prodigious dark chocolate flavor thanks to a careful blend of Thomas Fawcett roasted malts. Post-fermentation additions of Ceremony Coffee’s Nefas Mormora, a natural process Ethiopian gem, fold in flavors of chocolate-covered raisin, further amplifying the pre-existing, malt-derived dark fruit medley of grape, fig, and raisin. If there ever was a late fall campfire beer, this might be the one.

One whiff of Fickle Love opens the senses with a luxurious blast of a freshly opened pack of juicy fruit gum. Although the juicy fruit character is aromatically predominant, the palate experience is considerably more balanced, with pithy tropical notes of guava and lychee, all supported by a pleasant, grassy earthiness. Although love may be indeed fickle at times, this punchy IPA most certainly is not.
