Craft Beer Made with Conviction.

The Brewery

Jailbreak is a freedom expression. Beginning in 2013 and becoming fully
operational in 2014, our artfully crafted beer is meant to be an escape
from whatever drama is present in your life. We are made up of
professionals from various industries all brought together by the common
desire to make something different and do something with our lives that
has more purpose.

Look for our kosher-certified beers at fine bars, restaurants, and
retailers throughout Maryland and come visit our tasting room in Laurel
to fully experience our culture.

Ryan Harvey

Brewmaster Ryan is the mastermind behind our delicious brews

Jake Henry

Beer Evangelist As the "Jake of all trades" this guy has conquered everything from Bartender to Sales Rep. He does it all!

Erica Turner

Kasey Turner

Founder and COO Kasey is the pragmatic engineer of the group and lives his life one spreadsheet at a time.

Maggie Wear

Lab Wizardess Maggie is a social scientist. She runs the lab, if you see her ask her a science question!

Constructed between 2013 and 2014, our 10,000 square foot brewing
facility is in full view of our tasting room. While sampling one of our
brews you can watch our brew team making the next batch of fresh
Jailbreak beer.

*Brewhouse* - We have a 20-barrel (620 gallon), 4-vessel brewhouse. Our
system was constructed specifically for us by DME in Canada, and
includes a Grist Hopper, Mash Tun, Lauter Tun, Boil Kettle, Whirlpool,
and heat exchanger. We're able to make up to two batches of one style
of /wort/ (the liquid created by the brewers that has no alcohol but is
sweet from the malt and bitter from hops) in a given work shift.

*Fermenters* - We have 300 barrels of total fermentation capacity spread
over 9 fermenters. Most of our products take about 2-3 weeks to ferment
into beer, during which time we /dry hop/ (adding more hops or other
ingredients such as jalapeños or cilantro into the fermenter) many of them.

*Brite Tanks* - We have three brite tanks where we condition our beer
prior to packaging. This usually takes about a day, and for most of our
beers this happens after a filtering step to remove any remaining sediment.

*Packaging* - We have a semi-automated keg washer/filler that ensures
all of our kegs are properly rinsed/sanitized and properly filled to the
proper volume. We also put several of our beers into 12oz cans. We
utilize a mobile canning line to do this about once a week.

Our tasting room seats about 85 people and holds 150+. Most of our
seating is at communal beer garden-style tables or on soft leather
couches in our "living room". Every seat has a prime view of our
brewing operations, so you can watch our brew team at work while sipping
a sample of our beer. We also have 4 large HDTVs and a 120" HD
projector, and show all the best sports. Our music is user-controlled
via a Rockbot app, so if you don't like what's playing you can change it!

We're always BYOF (bring your own food) and we work with local food
trucks to park outside and serve a variety of food during our peak hours.

We also reserve our tasting room for private events and parties. Just
shoot us an email to inquire about it!

In addition to our production beers, every Wednesday we put on a new set
of four R&D brews that are unique to our tasting room. These beers are
our newest (and sometimes oddest) creations, and we want your feedback
on them. We have surveys both in the taproom and online so you can tell
us what you think.

comfortable leather furniture, watching some sports on our 120" HD

communal seating areas. Our tables are reclaimed barn wood and the
entire area has a "comfortable industrial" feel.

*Bar* - Our U-shaped bar has the perfect view of our brewing operations
as well as two HDTVs. Chat up our bar staff and other patrons about the
latest Jailbreak happenings!

*Brewery* - Every seat in the house can check out our brew team as they
work hard to make the next fresh Jailbreak beer. We're the only venue
around where you can relax inside of a working beer factory.

*Bathrooms* - We care quite a bit about our bathrooms! They're spacious
and clean, and feature some awesome faucet/hand driers. Just please
don't think we're out of paper towels--read the instructions posted on
the mirror!
